Starting Punch Clock

Tutorial - First Time Use - Starting Punch Clock

The first time you start Punch Clock, you are presented with the following screen.

Punch Clock Main Screen

The screen itself is pretty simple to follow.  If you already had employees set up, you would be able to use the system immediately for punching in and out.  Please note that this program is both the standalone AND the network version of the software.  There are not two seperate downloads.

Version

The version of the program you are running is displayed on the top bar of the program.  Please make note of this version number, and ensure that all workstations using Punch Clock on your network are using the same version.  When contacting us for support, please supply us this version number so we can better assist you.

Date and Time

Note the date and time at the bottom of the screen.  It is important that all workstations on your network have the same date and time configured.  Windows XP and later has the ability to synchronize your PC clock with an internet time server.  It is recommended that this be done to bring all computers into sync.

Demo Mode

When you first download and install Punch Clock, you will be in "Demo Mode".  Demo mode is still a fully functional version of Punch Clock, but has limitations on the number of employees that can be added, as well as the total number of time cards.  Once you purchase a license for Punch Clock, you will be given Activation Codes that cause the message you see above to vanish.
