NOTE: This document assumes that the windows machines are already configured to communicate together through a Microsoft network, such as a domain or a Windows workgroup. 1. Go to the "Control Panel" (click START, then SETTINGS, then CONTROL PANEL). 2. Double-click on NETWORK. (If this Icon does not appear, then networking is not configured on the machine. Contact a network specialist for assistance). 3. On the window that show up, click on the button labeled "FILE AND PRINT SHARING" 4. If the little box next to "I want to be able to give others access to my files" does not have a check mark in it, click the box to put one there. 5. Click on the "OK" to exit the File sharing screen. 6. Click on "OK" to exit the network settings. 7. Close the "CONTROL PANEL" (Click the little x in the upper right hand corner) Note: Windows may now request the Windows CD-ROM, and optionally restart the machine. If this is requested by the system, please allow it to do so before proceeding. 8. Open Windows Explorer [found on the desktop] (Click START, then PROGRAMS, then WINDOWS EXPLORER). 9. In the bottom left pane (titled All Folders"0, highlight the folder in which Punch Clock was installed (usually "C:\Program Files\PCLOCK"). 10. Click on the highlighted folder with the RIGHT mouse button, and select the option labeled SHARING. 11. Click the little circle next to the label "Shared As" 12. Next to the "Shared Name", type the name you would like associated with this "share". We suggest leaving it to the default (usually "PCLOCK"). 13. Enter a comment, if desired. 14. Underneath the title "Access Type", click on the little circle next to the "Full". Full access to this share is required for Punch Clock to operate correctly. 15. Enter a password id desired. 16. Click the "APPLY" button to create the share 17. Click the "OK" button to close the share window That's it: The share is created and ready to be connected. |
