How can I tell if my SERVER and WORKSTATIONS are using the same database?

There's a pretty simple test for this:

1) On any workstation, enter the ADMIN console.  Go to Maintenance -> Instance Name.

2) Fill in a name for this instance of Punch Clock.  An office or company name usually suffices.  Click SAVE when done.  See below:

Enter the Instance Name

3) The instance name is now saved in the database.  When you load Punch Clock from ANY workstation or the server, you should see your instance name at the bottom of the Punch Clock window:

Instance name shows at bottom of Window

If your Instance name appears as above, you are correctly configured.  If it does not, please see the FAQ named: How do I use Punch Clock on a network?
