STEPS TO CREATING A SHORTCUT TO PUNCH CLOCK:

Now that the networked machines now have a "Mapped" connection to the folder containing Punch Clock, it will now be necessary to create a shortcut on your "Desktop" (Windows Screen) which will start up Punch Clock when clicked on.

1. Minimize all windows on the screen. Do this by clicking the little "-" character in the upper right hand corner of each window.

2. Position the mouse over the desktop (not on top of anything, like an icon).

3. Click on the RIGHT mouse button.

4. Click on "NEW", and then "SHORTCUT".

5. Click on the BROWSE button below the "Command Line" blank

6. In the top bar titled "Look In", select the drive letter that matches the mapped drive. This would be drive "E:\" in our example.

7. Locate the folder where Punch Clock is installed . (Usually "PCLOCK").

8. Find the file inside the Punch Clock directory named "PCLOCK.EXE", then click on it.

9. Click on "OPEN" to select this file as the program associated to the shortcut.

10. Click "NEXT" to Continue

11. Type in a name for the shortcut (we suggest "Punch Clock")

12. Click "NEXT" to Continue.

13. Choose an icon from the list provided.

14. Click FINISH to complete the shortcut.

There should now be an icon on the screen named "PUNCH CLOCK". When this is activated, it will run Punch Clock on the networked PC.
